Dear Arizona MoveOn member,
Across the country, Republicans are trying to make it harder for people to vote.
But Arizonans have a rare opportunity to protect voting rights for generations to come—and time is closing in to make it happen.
The Free, Fair, and Secure Elections Act is a ballot initiative that would amend the Arizona Constitution to guarantee our fundamental right to vote by ensuring every Arizonan can vote by mail, vote early, and more measures to make voting accessible. It would also guarantee a voter’s right to sign up to receive a ballot by mail for every election and forbid the Arizona Legislature from eliminating mail-in voting or reducing the early-voting period.1
Arizonans have just one week left to sign the petition in order to ensure there are enough signatures to get the Free, Fair, and Secure Elections Act on the ballot this November. And if we can get it on the ballot, it has a strong chance of passing and becoming law.
No matter where you live in the state, there are ample opportunities to sign the petition over the next week. Check out Protect the Vote AZ’s website for a list of locations for signing the petition in person. You can select your region to find the location closest to you.
The Free, Fair, and Secure Elections Act is a counter to a Republican-backed ballot measure that would change the state constitution to give politicians control over when, where, and how Arizonans can vote, paving the way to end voting by mail and early voting.2 This ballot measure is already set to be on November’s ballot, and we must defeat it.
The people of Arizona deserve to be the ones who decide how they vote, not politicians motivated by partisan purposes.
MoveOn members in Arizona have been collecting signatures for weeks to make sure this ballot initiative has enough of them to be on November’s ballot! Petitions must be signed in person—find a location to sign here!
Republicans are working overtime to rig this election before voters even cast their ballots by making it harder for people to vote, including in Arizona. They know they can’t win on their MAGA, billionaire-backed platform, so they need to rig the rules to maintain power. It’s pathetic but a real threat.
Thankfully, there is a winnable counter, the Free, Fair, and Secure Elections Act. This has a real chance of passing. But in order to get it on the ballot, we need hundreds of thousands of signatures.
If you haven’t signed the petition yet, please find a location near you to sign it in person before July 2 and protect Arizonans’ freedom to vote!
Thanks for all you do.
