Donald Trump has tried everything to force Congress to pass the SAVE Act. Why? Because if it becomes law, it will be the most powerful and dangerous tool in Trump's pursuit of absolute power.
Thanks to House Speaker Mike Johnson, who used every dirty trick in the book to do it, the House of Representatives passed the SAVE Act last week.
Johnson had declared that passing the SAVE Act was his and Trump's "top priority," and he finally delivered on his promise to Trump by attaching it to an unrelated House spending bill.1,2
Now, the SAVE Act is awaiting a Senate vote. It’s the last step before Trump signs the bill. But we have a way to stop the Senate from passing the bill.
You see, we're just 12 days away from the August congressional recess, when senators leave Washington, D.C., and head home. If we pull out all the stops to keep pressure on the senators not to pass the SAVE Act while the Senate is still in session, we can stop the bill. Once they return, it'll be too late to pass it before this year's midterm elections.

There's no question about it: The SAVE Act is the worst voter-suppression bill in modern history. If the SAVE Act passes before Congress leaves town, it could go into effect immediately, which would throw the 2026 midterms into chaos—and benefit Trump, MAGA, and the Republican Party.3
Tens of millions of American voters would be disenfranchised within weeks—women, young people and students, lower-income voters, transgender voters, and immigrants—would be impacted the most.4,5
It's obvious what's going on here. Trump's popularity has plummeted to near record lows. Meanwhile, thanks to Trump and his Republican cronies, the cost of living is going up, gas and grocery prices are skyrocketing, and Americans are fed up.6
