I’m Beatriz Lopez, the executive director of Voto Latino, the country’s largest Latino civic engagement organization.
Latinos are one of the largest emerging groups of voters in the U.S. And for that very reason, we've registered more than 1.5 million Latino voters across the country. That is more than two decades of work to understand our community, empowering them to make their own choices and have their own say in how our democracy can better represent all of us.
One of the most powerful ways we can make sure all all voices are heard and needs are addressed is through voter registration. We to support voters to make sure they have what they need to cast their votes.
No Kings is a movement of millions of Americans who refuse to live under any king. It is a movement that doesn't doesn't allow this regime to redefine what democracy looks like in America. It is a people-powered movement that is working to make sure that we’re protecting democracy and defending our neighbors.

This year in particular, Voto Latino is involved because we want to make sure that our community is with the rest of Americans who are doing their part to show that we believe in this democracy.
There is a lot of fear within our community about ICE at the polls and law enforcement targeting people who look like me. Voto Latino wants to work with all groups, with all advocates, with every American to ensure that we tell communities, in particular Latinos: We have your back. We're with you and will walk with you to the polls. We'll make sure that your family is not a target, not today, not tomorrow, and not after the elections.
In this moment in particular, we want to make sure that all voters know that they can vote and they can vote safely. And we're all with you.
WIll you show up for your neighbors and attend a No Kings: Vote Early event near you on October 17?
No Kings: Vote Early on October 17 is particularly special because it moves us from protest to making our votes count. It is designed to make sure that our neighbors, our friends, and our families all show up to vote early. We want to show up for our communities, for our neighbors, for everybody who fears that their vote might not matter or that voting might be something dangerous to do.
This is going to be a different No Kings. It will be rallies, block parties, and people walking you over to the polls. But it's going to look bigger and better and much more impressive, because all of us will come together for something that is crucial to who we are as Americans.
That is our vote. And our vote can change what our future looks like. Just imagine coming together on October 17, not just creating rallies and protests and block parties, but showing up for your neighbor and saying, hey, do you need a ride to the polls? We’re here.
